[Val Royeaux Proper] (25 Parvulis)
He really did try to not look so eager, and he purposefully stomped down on the impulse to lean forward in his seat. But he could not help the slight curve of pleasure that turned the corners of his lips at her interest. Perhaps this would not be so hard after all, not when such a competent possible ally - whom he must not forget was always a possible enemy as well - fell right into his lap.
Teodoro was not one to let such an opportunity go by, simply because it looked too good to be true. That would be as silly as choosing to break break the lock on the main entry when a second floor window was wide open. It just was not done. "No inconvenience at all! I only ask a favor of you from a friend, if you happen to meet the Marquise de Chevans, I have heard that she could use a good friend, since the unfortunate death of her husband last year, she has been desolated! My friend is very concerned about her, but she refuses to see him as he only reminds her of her loss." He sighed expressively, "Ah the tangles of love and loss, they cut us all so deeply."
There was a friend, or more accurately, a contract, but that was not something to discuss here. And...it was said that her interest did not lie in the beds of men, or so he had learned since being assigned the contract, all the more pity for him for the Marquise was a known beauty. It did not matter to him that the Marquise was rumored to have been the one to kill her husband and make it look like an accident, he was just supposed to find out if that was true and if so, why.
