Kallian had no goodbyes to make. Her farewells had all been done in Denerim, well before she had come to Amaranthine. Even those had only been a few. The alienage elders. Her employer. A few acquaintances who had seemed likely to miss her when she left. But they were long over by now.
Coming to Amaranthine, she hadn't even said enough hellos to warrant any goodbyes. Kallian hadn't even established a proper home for herself, finding lodging instead in inns and a few nerve-wracked nights at the Chantry. When she had gotten word that the Wardens and their companions were going to set out, she had decided to come to Vigil's Keep as early as she could to help out anywhere an extra pair of hands might be needed.
Vigil's Keep had been beyond anything Kallian had expected. For one thing, it was big. Yes, Denerim had plenty of large buildings, what with the palace and Chantry and various nobles' estates, but it seemed to her that the whole alienage population in the capital could fit comfortably within the grounds of Vigil's Keep. For another, it was so old. She didn't doubt its sturdiness, but she was afraid to touch anything, lest she somehow spoil it or have it turn out something of great historical value. It was a relief she wouldn't be there for very long.
She approached the nearest of the Wardens, her demeanor polite but unassuming. "Begging your pardon, but might there be anything else I can help with before we set out?" she offered.
