Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I know you're all thinking it, so I'll just say it. YAY MOD POST TIME!

Okay, you're probably not thinking that.

Anyway, it's roll call time, people.

You have ten to reply to this role call (so by midnight Monday, August 31), and any character that is not accounted for will be removed on Tuesday, September 1. Those who do not reply will have their characters removed. People who are on hiatus will be immune from this. Remember only hiatuses posted and recognized in the mod journal will be counted.

So if everyone can reply with just a list of their characters, we will know you're still around and your characters will not be cut. Mods will do this too. Please also put your name/online alias in the subject line so we know who you are)

ALSO: Any characterss you add from now until midnight of August 31, please come back and reply to your post (drop a comment if you are new) so that we don't accidentally remove anyone.

Any characters that you decide to drop, please do in the appropriate place

Now, for some notes:

1) Tags.

Please use tags. Please. That's how we keep track of who is and isn't being active, and we try very hard to keep them as up to date as possible. Yes, sometimes we miss someone, but just tell us and we will add them. Seriously, people, I sometimes feel like I’m spending hours and hours just going through posts adding tags to them. I shouldn’t need to do this. If a tag isn't on the list, try typing it in. If a week goes by and your new character doesn’t have a tag then please let me (Ashe!mod) know.

2) In Character=/=Out Of Character.

Please keep characters in character regardless of how you feel about the player. We understand that there are people in the game that you might not like as well as others, but this is not a reason to have your character act out of character. We don't expect you to like everyone, but leave it out of the game or you will get a modly beating...and not in a fun way.

If you do not want to play with a specific player and they pick up your characters brother/sister/cousin/ex-wife/cousin’s roommate’s sister’s ex-lover from Schenectady, then please talk to the player and come to some kind of arrangement. There are many reasons why people might no longer speak to each other, or you could limit it to polite acknowledgement in the random community. Use your imaginations, but please keep your characters In Character. Peter will not suddenly hate Nathan because Suzie and Bobby had a fight. Peter might suddenly hate Nathan because...let's be honest here...Nathan does stupid things. Like leave him in Haiti. Or hunt down special people. These things happpen.

Seriously, your character isn't your mouthpiece to vent your dislike for Steve. Why yes, I am making up a ton of fictitious players today.

3) Housing.

Please remember to request housing as soon as your new character has been accepted. This goes for all characters. Not just ones that live in Torchwood housing. If your people move out of the Torchwood flats, tell the mods about their new arrangements.

If there is a character on the housing list that is no longer being played then please reply to the post and let us know so that we can remove them.

4) Applications and Spoilering. Shut up! It's a word now.

Firstly, just reminding you all that you can only hold or apply for a character from a movie once it's been out for two weeks. There is, of course, an exception for characters from movies based on other mediums, like comic books and television shows. For television characters, wait until they are in three episodes before bringing them in, though we'd prefer you wait longer to get a better feel for the character. In this case, you can hold them after the first episode they are in.

As for spoilers? Don't. Simple as that. Put it behind a cut, people. It's really easy. If spoilers come in the comments, just make a note in the header of the comment that starts spoiling. Spoiling! That's the word! Trust me, you don't want to face the wrath of people who get spoiled. I still have the bruises. It's tragic.

5) Canon puncturing.

Again, don't. With the exceptions of specific fandoms mentioned in canon, nobody knows anyone else is fictional. Like, for example, Thomas Raith wears a 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' t-shirt, in The Dresden Files. In the same vein, Deadpool knows he's fictional, and would probably know he's a character in an RPG. That's cool, if someone plays him. In any case, your character may get fangirled/boyed/hermaphrodited/aliened. Just roll with it, homies...and I am way too white to say things like that. I practically sparkle. I mean...what? Right...anyway...you don't have to ask permission to canon puncture, but do try to warn in advance.

And that's about it. If you have any questions about anything, please ask me or Jewels or Kira, and please remember again to reply to this with your characters by midnight on August 31. And also remember that we do go by EST, so that's 9 PM on August 31, PST. Thank you.

On behalf of your lords and masters mods, I am Ashe.

Peace out. ♥
