Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Character(s): Klaus and whoever. Damon or Elena would be hilarious, but anyone would be awesome.
Rating: TBD
Cautions/Warnings: Probably swearing - others TBD.
Location: Woods near the arrival hut.
Approximate Date: evening after Klaus' arrival.
Status: open

Once he got accustomed to the idea that he was in an unnamed place where, shock and awe, his powers barely worked, Klaus waited until sundown and decided to explore so he knew his surroundings just in case something were to happen. He didn't like getting caught off-guard, and the best way to prevent that was to know his surroundings. He wasn't the type to panic, so he was keeping an even temper right now. Nothing worse than a temper tantrum in the middle of the wilderness.

Idly he wondered if he was the only one here, or if there were others who had been unfortunately nabbed into this abandoned landscape. Judging by how often he got duped, there probably weren't very many people in the same predicament as he. Maybe he was just on a downward slope, though, because first he'd gotten the coffins taken from him, and now this? Hm, he must have been going into a funk...

Traipsing through the woods, he found little things that told him about the island. There was an upside to have grown up in the woods with his family, after all. Touching each leaf as he passed it, he scanned the wooded horizon with a critical eye. He could see each trail leading over the hills and through the gnarled trees that led back toward the beach. He kept stomping through the forest, barely caring how much noise he was making.

Damon was going back to the village after stopping to talk to the other vampire. Eric kept "normal" vampire hours, since he wasn't able to daywalk, so Damon had to wait til sundown to see him. He paused when he detected someone--or something--else in the woods. When he saw who it was, he threw his hands up. 'You've GOT to fucking be kidding me!' Then he paused, wondering if it actually was Klaus, or if it was another doppelganger. He knew now that he hadn't imagined seeing his own, since Caroline had as well.

'Klaus? Or someone who looks like him?' Damon asked, approaching cautiously. 'And if you are Klaus, where the fuck is my brother?' he demanded. He didn't have it in him to be nice to the elder vampire--eldest vampire really. At least from their world. It was, after all, Klaus's fault that they were here. And he was very unhappy about being here.

Orophin was out in the woods at dusk when he saw the dead thing walking about and decided to fallow. His bear on his heals. There was another being though and the vampire seemed to know him. "More dead things?" He asked out of no where because he was sure that Damon didn't know he was there, the bear had gotten very good at moving silently and he never even had to think about being quiet it just was. "Prowling the darkness? Searching for blood?" Someone one of the villagers had explained to him what a vampire was, he didn't quite get it but it was what it was.

'I'm not prowling, and you could hardly say that he is, as much noise as he's making,' Damon replied. 'You, on the other hand... I can't hear you and my hearing is better than a humans. I'm not searching for blood. I already fed today--on an animal. We don't bother humans here,' he said, more for Klaus's benefit than the elf's. 'Given how few there are and the trust we need in each other to survive, and the fact that compulsion doesn't work here,' he said, speaking directly to Klaus now.

Klaus truly didn't care how much noise he was making. He figured he was probably the most dangerous thing in these woods, so he wasn't attempting to cover up his tracks. When he heard movement, he glanced over and got a grin on his face. It figured that Damon was lurking these woods. What kind of madness was afoot here? "Ah, hello Damon," he said in his accent, eyebrow quirking when he asked if he was someone who looked like him, and then subsequently asked about his brother. What a strange place he'd stumbled into. "I don't believe there could be anyone else looking like me, and your brother is on a rogue mission that I have absolutely nothing to do with." A hint of disdain colored his tone.

His eyes turned to the elf when he heard him speak, and he cocked his head a little, affronted at being reduced to a mere 'dead thing.' Intense eyes fell back to Damon, as it was obvious that he was speaking directly to him near the end. Interesting that compulsion didn't work - he'd figured that since most of his other powers didn't work, neither would compulsion - but trust was not generally in his vocabulary. He didn't play well with others, to put it mildly. "Thank you for that update, Damon, but I was merely exploring my surroundings. Getting acquainted with the island, that sort of thing," he told the vampire, inclining his head to the elf and addressing him. "I don't believe we've been introduced. I am Niklaus, but please, call me Klaus. Everyone else does."

'Trust me, or not, but yes, there could. Rose has a doppelganger here, called Maggie. I have a fucking doppelganger here. It's not the least bit amusing when you come face to face with a you that's 10 years younger. Or, well... 120 years, in my case.' He paused, then added, 'there's also an 1100 year old vampire here. He comes from a world where there are no "Originals". You don't exist, to him.' He was curious how that would go over. He already knew that Legs was curious about Klaus; he wondered if the sentiment was mutual.

He smirked and said to Orophin, 'They call him Klaus when they're not calling him worse.'

He eyed the polar bear warily. 'Sookie says that your... friend likes me. He licked my face the other day, then smirked at me. How in the hell a bear can smirk, I don't know. But yours does it.'

Elena was very good at walking around in the woods after dark. Since the island seemed to have very little in the way of threat factor so far (if you ignored the obvious of the two vampires prowling around, as well as the random blizzard that had nearly killed her) she was comfortable with the solitude of the woods. Then she heard the unmistakable sounds of footsteps and froze, turning in its direction sharply. She paused, breathing out slowly, and then moved towards the noise. As much as solitude suited her lately, she got lonely and there were only a handful of people that it could be, after all. Unless of course it was someone new entirely, but she doubted that. And of course, she was wrong.

Elena kept moving forward at a relatively quick pace towards the sound of someone storming through the woods, and burst through some trees to see the face of probably the one person in the world that she wanted at this island the least. It was Klaus. Despite her best efforts she let out a small little shriek of shock, stifled quickly by a hand slapped to her mouth as she stumbled back a couple of steps. She didn't want to wait around for his reaction, and though the powers of vampires had apparently been dulled at the island, Elena knew that he would catch her.

That didn't stop her turning on her heel and desperately sprinting in the opposite direction, nonetheless.

Eric grunted as a tiny brunette ran--literally--into him. "Easy, sugar,' he drawled with a smirk. 'Where are you off to in such a rush? The big bad wolf after you?' he teased. 'Is that what's making such a racket?'

Just after he spoke, he saw Damon and another man. 'Hmm... your boyfriend and another man...' He sniffed the air a bit. 'He smells like he's part dog,' he said tartly, using the impolite term for a werewolf.

'Is this the vampire-mutt your boyfriend was telling me about? The first of all vampires in your world?' He eyed Klaus curiously. 'I've been wanting to meet him.'

Elena let out another terrified scream as she ran into someone and took a few rushed steps backwards, eyes wide. She saw Eric's face and in an instant she slumped back against the tree next to her. Lucky it was there, really, or she would have just fallen to the floor. A shaky breath escaped and she nodded her head quickly in response to Eric's question. The big bad wolf. She couldn't think of a more apt description for Klaus.

"He's supposed to think I'm dead. If he thinks I'm dead then I'm no use to him any more, and now he's here," she was trying to keep herself calm, she really was, but her words were coming out in a panicked, high pitch flurry all the same. She clasped her hands together to try to stop them from shaking as she looked behind her quickly. "I need to get away from him, quickly."

Eric wrapped a powerful arm around her, pulling her close and turning away to shield her from Klaus's view. He wanted more information, but whisking her away wasn't an option. 'Why are you of use to him?' he asked quietly. 'And... you may not have seen after the blizzard but people don't stay dead here. Not in terms of becoming vampires or zombies, but they literally just rise again after a couple days. Just like Jesus. Maybe we're on Easter Island' he said smirking faintly.

He looked at her expectantly, wanting to know why she was useful to a mutt. He also wanted to question Klaus himself. The concept of mixing breed was curious to him. The Authority would never have allowed such an abomination to survive in his world. But Damon had told him that this vampire's world had no such thing. His head was starting to hurt again.

Elena gripped Eric's arm tightly, her fear of Klaus all too obvious as her nails dug just slightly. She would apologise, and she probably would later, but her sort of-muderer was taking the monopoly in where her attention was directed at that moment. With a brief peer around Eric in the direction she had run from, she looked up at the vampire and began to speak in a hurried, hushed voice.

"There's a curse on him. the Sun and the Moon curse, they called it, to prevent him from becoming a hybrid." she paused, then quickly added 'Werewolf father, turned to a vampire by a witch' before continuing, "He needed my blood to break the curse. The Petrova Doppelganger, that's me. He killed me, technically. Drained me completely, but my- a man used a spell to save my life."

A deep breath stopped her from talking momentarily, and she raised an eyebrow at him to double check that he was following, though she carried on without waiting, "He's a vampire-werewolf hybrid now, with the potential to be both or neither. Obviously he chooses to be both, and to make more hybrids, they need to feed on me. So naturally, I don't really want him finding me."

Klaus listened half-heartedly to what Damon was telling him. So he had stumbled upon a whole different world here. Maybe it was just how he'd been raised, but he wasn't nearly as staggered or shocked as Damon so obviously was. It was true that it was strange that there was another vampire, one hundred and ten years old, that didn't believe he existed. Then again, why was Damon suddenly the welcome committee for this mysterious island? It didn't sit quite right with him that Damon knew more about the place than he did. He made a mental note to get to know the surroundings better.

"Fascinating information, Damon, but, I quite obviously exist," he drawled, laughing and shaking his head. When Damon tried to dig at his pride by telling Orophin that people tended to call him worse than his name, he just got an amused sort of grin playing at the corner of his lips. Petty insults didn't dig at him like they dug at most.

"Most people just call me the bad guy," he added, a touch of humor in his eyes. His attention was shaken from the conversation when he heard someone else traipsing through the woods, and he glanced over, eyebrows raising when he saw Elena standing there, shocked still for a moment before she ran away in a panic. "Ah, the doppelganger girl, Elena. I'd been wondering where she'd run off to," he said. "If you'll excuse me," he told the elf and the vampire, stepping past them and following Elena into the woods. It was less the lure for blood - he highly doubted there were any werewolves worth their salt that he could change - and more because Elena screamed and ran away. He was intrigued by the sound of human suffering. "Hello, Elena." His voice carried through the woods. He sensed another presence, but did not address him just yet.

Elena's explanation of just why Klaus was after her - while incredibly condensed - was cut a little short when the sound of his voice echoed through the woods, and her eyes widened. That voice plagued her nightmares, terrified her waking moments and now it was here on this island, in this woods, coming after her. She stepped away from Eric and pointed out into the woods, trying to usher him away from her quickly. As though the distance between them would somehow change the situation, she kept backing up until there was a good couple of feet between them, and she glanced around the vampire to see if Klaus was getting nearer.

"Get out of here, okay? I can handle Klaus; he can't kill me." She wasn't sure of that, by any means, but there wasn't a chance in hell that she would risk getting more blood on her hands. She couldn't guarantee that Klaus wouldn't kill - or at least seriously harm - Eric simply for fun, just to get to her and mess with her head a little. Too many people had been harmed because of her, and she had to draw the line somewhere. She stepped in, gave Eric a hard shove to the chest and hissed through her teeth, "I said, get out of here!"

She sidestepped around him quickly, took a few steps and looked over her shoulder. At least martyrdom, however misguided, felt more comfortable than fear. She knew self-sacrifice, knew how to put herself in the firing line to try to protect the people around her, and the familiarity of that was oddly comforting. She met Eric's eyes, whispering again as she pressed a finger to her lips to try and get him to stay quiet. All she said was "go", and then she walked in the direction of Klaus's voice. Her hands were shaking, and so she pushed them into her shorts pockets to try and hide the reaction.

"Klaus," she said tersely, using the irritated tone to mask her true feelings as she approached him, "Small world, I guess?"

Bjorn as some were affectionately calling him after Eric had started was after the vampire when he went after the girl. The big bear was sort of a self appointed protector of all thins small specially from the things that Orophin called dead. They didn't sit well with him so with a quick move he tackled the 'old' vampire to the ground and the elf was after him too, bow drawn arrow pointed at the vampire. He'd called himself bad after, and though he boasted of age it seemed he was still just a child in the elfs prospective.

"Why do they call you a bad man? Are you a servant of Sauron?" He asked there were so many people about right now and he really wished the bear hadn't got them in the middle of this but he'd stand by his friends side in a battle he felt was worth it.

Klaus knew that his history with Elena was anything but flawless, in fact it was downright convoluted, but what he was most curious about was why she was here as well. It seemed like this whole place was a broken seam in the world where other creatures - or creatures from different dimensions maybe? - came together on an island that muted powers and brought everyone down to an equal playing field. It was a fascinating thing, Klaus had to admit. It didn't change the fact that Elena was completely terrified of him, and why shouldn't she be? He'd killed her, after all. Some sorcery had brought her back, obviously, but now they were here.

The irritated tone was old hat to Klaus, and his lips twitched, a . He'd seen the pure fear in her eyes before she'd run away from him, and as he came closer, the sound of her voice washed over him. There were so many facets to the human voice, he thought as he stepped closer to her. He was expecting Damon - the ever-noble savior since Stefan had gone rogue - to come up behind him and try to stop him from coming any closer to his precious doppelganger.

"Small world indeed, darling," he told her, walking closer and navigating the landscape with ease. The soles of his boots gripped the underbrush, giving him a steady stride even as he walked over logs, branches and curved rocks. He cocked his head, the sense of another being still linger in the clearing beside Elena and, indeed, on her skin. "Who was your friend? Anyone I should know?" A glint of cruel mischief danced in his blue-green eyes as his grin turned a bit wolfish.

The expression flattened when he felt the movements of the bear behind him, and it was more the presence than the sound that got him somewhat away from the animal. It caught him off-guard despite everything and knocked him to the ground, knees touching the ground before he rolled and was back on his feet, a step away from the animal and back up on his feet. He leveled his eyes to the arrow pointed at him, and an eyebrow lifted, staring down the weapon evenly. Sure, wood could hurt him - his vampire side, at least - but a simple arrow could not end his life. Many people had tried with much more complicated weapons. "You realize that you can't kill me with that," he told the elf, turning his eyes to the elf again, mildly confused by the name he had dropped. "Sauron? I have no idea who that is, but, no. I serve no one but myself and my family."

Elena could practically feel her skin crawling as Klaus spoke, and her determination to come across as anything but terrified seemed to be slipping in the face of the vampire who had destroyed so much that she had cared about. It was proving very difficult, but she kept her chin tilted up just slightly, head held defiantly high as she glared fiercely at him. Of course he was going to ask about Eric, heaven forbid Klaus miss the chance to hurt or maim.

"He's none of your concern," she said firmly, clenching her hands into fists in her pockets to try and subside the shaking again. "Another vampire, an old one. He'll leave you alone of you do him."

She opened her mouth agin, ready to propose some sort of deal. Once again, she was back to gambling for the lives of her friends. but she never actually made that far. The shock of seeing a polar bear launch itself at Klaus made her jump back a few steps (and that was of course ignoring the big factor of a polar bear on the island at all, let alone a vigilante one) but blurt out all the same.

"He's not from your world, he's from mine. Sauron doesn't exist to us."

'Elena. I'm still here,' Eric said from behind her, quietly. He looked at the man she called Klaus and finally took in his appearance fully. 'You!' His jaw flexed and his fangs came out, though he didn't intend to attack him. 'I thought I had seen the last of you in 1912. I always thought Mikael finished you off. Would've been good riddance,' he growled, uttering a vile curse in Swedish.

'I can't promise to leave him alone, Elena. Please don't make that promise for me.' He glance to Orophin. 'He's right. You can't kill him. Or he'd long since be dead.'

"An old one, hm?" Klaus asked, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips before he licked over his bottom lip as if hungry. He could tell that Elena was terrified that he was going to do something to yet another precious vampire of his, and the thought that Elena thought he was specifically out to ruin her little life almost made him laugh. Chaos was indeed fun, but being predictable was also incredibly boring. "We'll see about that."

Turning his attention from Orophin and the puny weapon pointed at him, he looked at Eric and took him in as he hissed at him, regarding him as an old friend, which of course - ironically - he sort of was. He didn't jump back when Eric's fangs came out and he was subsequently cursed out; he truly was not caught off-guard once he realized whom it was he was regarding. Honestly, it wasn't his fault that Eric was so bitter toward him. It hadn't been his choice whose blood ran through his veins. "Eric! Pleasant as always," he told him, intense eyes sparkling despite the mild stab of fleeting loneliness he felt. Shoving it away resolutely, he kept the amused expression on his face. "Mikael has tried many times to 'finish me off' but alas, it has never quite worked."

'Clearly.' The word was clipped, the voice uttering it tight. 'And now you're trying to create more mutts like yourself,' he said, recalling what Elena had told him only minutes ago. Everything clicked into place now.

Eric hadn't missed the other man. So deep was his hatred of werewolves that once he'd learnt that Niklaus was part mongrel he'd walked away from their friendship never once looking back.

'I want you to leave Elena alone,' he said, speaking in Swedish. 'We all try to get along, on this island, try not to hurt each other. Which means feeding from animals, or voluntary donors only, and not hurting others.'

"So word travels fast," Klaus replied, voice curt and dry. The feelings had subsided long ago, but the shock of seeing his once-friend in front of him like this had dredged it up, for a second, before he turned it off like he turned everything else off. It had been sudden, the way their friendship had ended, and honestly Klaus felt some resentment toward the other vampire for the abrupt goodbye and the cold reunion, even though it was a typical relationship in his life. It just made him realize, who gave a flying leap about Eric anyway?

When Eric began speaking in Swedish, Klaus' lips quirked upward. More lecturing - be nice, Klaus, because nothing is what it seems here and everyone has to work together to survive - that made him roll his eyes. All of this goody-goody lecturing was tiring. "And you think just because you desire it, that I'm going to leave her alone? You have long since fallen out of that slot, my friend," he told him in Swedish right back, crossing his arms loosely across his chest.

Eric stalked forward, teeth bared, a menacing glare on his face as he stood toe to toe with his former friend, towering over him. 'I may not be able to kill you. But Niklaus, I know you can still feel pain. And I thoroughly enjoy causing those I dislike to suffer.'

He reverted to English. 'Consider Elena to be under my protection.' He barely knew her, but seeing her utter fear of Klaus triggered the primal instinct to protect her.

Klaus wasn't one to back down from a fight, even from someone like Eric. He used to respect the vampire before his discrimination killed what could have been an intense alliance, but despite the fact that Eric was challenging him, he was not intimidated. "I remember well how much you enjoy causing suffering, Eric. It was one thing we bonded over," he replied coolly, looking up at the vampire and enunciating the word 'bonded' because it implied animal instinct, which Eric so obviously despised.

Height was not everything, after all, and it was not nearly enough to intimidate him. "But remember, I am not easily intimidated, at least not by those fangs of yours. You do not frighten me." His eyes flashed menacingly before the conversation switched tacks.

"Aw, how sweet," Klaus said in a musical, mocking sort of tone as he reverted back to English as well. It amused him, tickled him even, that yet another clueless vampire was taking the doppelganger's side as protector. As if Stefan and Damon weren't enough. "Elena has yet another protector. I would ask if her blood is like a rare wine, but I have tasted it and it is indeed sweet. In fact, I drained her of it."

It wasn't animal instinct that Eric loathed. His hatred of mutts was wholly irrational, he knew, borne of the slaughter of his family. More irrationally, the slaughter had been orchestrated and commanded by a vampire, yet he didn't hate all vampires. But that was the thing with irrational beliefs--they weren't rational.

'I don't care whether or not you're afraid of me. Remember I know many of your weaknesses, friend. As for her blood, I haven't fed off her. Some of us have self-control,' he said icily. He reverted once more to Swedish. 'Tell me Niklaus: will you remain alive if I rip your head off your shoulders? I am as old as you, and as strong. I will agree to a truce, if you wish it, on the condition that you leave my friends alone.'

Eric ignored the command to leave. 'I've always had problems with being told what to do. That hasn't changed in 1100 years,' he said. 'It won't change with you.' He stood his ground, arms folded over his chest, watching the scene unfold. He'd lived through many wars, and could make sense of chaos with relative ease. He didn't follow her closely, but he did move with her, intent on making his presence known. Elena seemed to be a lot like Sookie. Which meant he wasn't going to waste his time arguing. If worse came to worse, he could toss her over his shoulder. Between him, Damon, the Elf, and Bjorn, as well as Elena herself, he doubted it would reach that level.

Klaus could tell that there was a fierce irrationality to the hatred that Eric had for one half of his being, and obviously it was stronger than the other half, but bygones were bygones and he supposed there wasn't much that he could do about it other than bait the man that he'd once called friend. That was just the story of his life, though, he supposed.

His eyebrow twitched, amusement playing across his face, when Eric dug at his self-control. He did indeed have self-control, as well, but he used it in different ways than most people did. He craved indulgence and chaos and the fact was, he wasn't willing to curb that craving to placate someone who hated him anyway. "I'm aware, friend," he replied icily.

He wasn't surprised when Eric switched back to Swedish, and he laughed at what he said, the sound a harsh bark of laughter that echoed around the clearing and spooked an animal. "If that were the case and if it were that easy, Eric, someone would have killed me long ago," he pointed out - it was too easy to snap his head off. There was no one thing that could really and truly kill him. "You are taking all the fun out of everything," he said of the truce. He never liked forging those, because no one kept their word like he did.

'You'd do well to maintain that awareness,' Eric said quietly. 'I didn't figure it would be that easy to kill you. But I'm sure that it wouldn't be especially pleasant, would it?'

'I make no promises of anyone but myself. But if yeave Elena alone--as well as my companion, Sookie, I won't bother with you. I'll even pretend to be nice if you'd like. If not, I'll simply ignore you unless I must interact with you. Fuck with them, and I'll have fun seeing how much pain I can cause you, and just how creative I can get.' He held out his hand to Klaus, his gaze not wavering from the other's face.

Say what you like about him, Eric was a man of his word. He wouldn't make a promise he couldn't or wouldn't keep, and when he gave his word, he did everything he could to keep it. He hoped that Niklaus remembered this.

"It might feel quite refreshing, actually," Klaus replied, the arch of his eyebrow as mocking as his tone. He didn't know how it would feel, as he'd never had it happen to him personally, but he could imagine it and it wasn't like he was afraid of pain, after all. Pain was something he'd dealt with all his life; it was not a big deal.

Listening to the proposition, his first instinct was to rebel against it as hard as he possibly could, but there was a certain sort of perk to it. He made enough enemies on purpose, why make ones by accident? "No need to pretend to be nice, Eric. I feel like that would be too painful for you," he pointed out, eyes flicking down to the hand offered to him.

Considering for a long moment, he rationalized that he didn't need Elena's blood right now - there were no werewolves he could turn here, and even if there had been, Eric probably would have killed them on sight - and maybe there were more people than Elena to torture. "If you believe you can refrain, then you have yourself a deal," he replied because he knew that Eric was faithful to his word much like Klaus himself was. He took Eric's hand with a firm grasp. He wondered if the vampire's skin came alive with disgust when he touched him, because he was part wolf. He relished the idea. "Your precious pets have nothing to worry about. For now."

'Yes, I'm sure having your head ripped off your shoulders and stuck on a pike pole is an amazing experience,' Eric retorted. His tone matched Klaus's perfectly. 'Nevertheless, we won't find out, will we?' he said.

'Painful? Hardly. I've played nicey nice with plenty of people I can't stand. Dreadfully boring more likely.'

His expression didn't change as Klaus took his hand, though his grip tightened when Klaus said "for now". 'No, Niklaus. Not "for now". You leave them alone, full stop. Not for a few days, nor a few weeks, nor even a few years. Forever.'

"Mm," Klaus replied noncommittally; no one would be able to corner him into an explicit agreement, because that just was not how he operated. He'd agree to the truce, and he did keep his word, but he couldn't guarantee that... extenuating circumstances wouldn't stop him from doing something accidentally, right? This place seemed so unpredictable.

Klaus didn't dignify the second quip a response, because he didn't need to. His company - while chaotic and unpredictable - was never boring, and he was the first to admit - or boast - that. Boring had not been a word in his vocabulary since he was young.

A muscle in his jaw flickered and he gave a tight, pleased smile when Eric tightened his grip on his hand, and he increased his grip as well. "I've already said that you cannot intimidate me, Eric. I said they are safe, and so they are. I am a man of my word, after all," he replied. Truly, Eric had given him the exact response he'd desired by tacking on the little jab.

In another life, perhaps, Klaus would have made an excellent lawyer. If there was the tiniest loophole, he'd take full advantage. Eric was determined not to let that happen here.

'Yes you are a man of your word. But you're also one to look for and exploit loopholes. I have a long memory, and you can't exactly hide from me on this island. So play nice,' he hissed softly.

Klaus had actually fancied becoming a lawyer in the past, because while he did enjoy being a man of his word, he also enjoyed exploiting whatever weakness or loopholes he could find that gave him a little bit of leeway when it came to achieving his goals. He was known for taking advantage of a small lead, and running with it until the finish line. It was just how he was.

When Eric pointed out just that, he got a small smirk on his face. Of course Eric would remember exactly how he used to be - vampires tended to have stone-solid memories, after all. "I'll play nice," he told him, smirk fading into one of his boyish grins as he crossed his arms over his chest. "And I don't plan on hiding from anyone," he added for good measure.
