Sookie was walking back towards the cave with her arms crossed. Well, more like stomped. She had not had a good run in with the other residents of the island. It was par for the course that was Sookie's life, she had hoped that it would be different on the island. She shook her head, picking her way through the perilous path, cursing Eric for being anywhere but with her.

She frowned as she felt someone watching her. She looked around but couldn't see what was there. "Who's there? Whatever you are I can't read your mind, so just come on out now. I won't hurt you."

Orophin and his bear companion had been stalking around the edges of the village patrolling the night for anything that seemed amiss. As an elf he didn't require sleep and that left him the best option for night watches.

The bear had seen the blond at the same time he had and they had a bit of a silent discussion about following her. The bear had only ever found one being it could communicate with out side of other bears and that was Orophin and so he was intrigued with a girl who could read minds perhaps.

They approached quietly and Orophin sat on the bears back a bit bored honestly as he peeked his white fluffy head out from behind a tree.

Sookie frowned as she picked up a faint sound and looked at the bear. "Oh! Hello....It's weird, it's like you're trying to speak to me. I hear the same faint sound when I tried to read your mind, Orophin."

She smiled at him, trying to right her rudeness from earlier. "I hope you didn't find me rude the other day. I definitely didn't mean to be. I've never met an elf before. Or a Polar bear."

She looked at him, tipping her head again, trying to figure out what the soft beautiful music was.

Orophin dismounted the beast gracefully. "No apologizing needed." He said and smiled a bit taking her in briefly before looking to the bear and saying something in Elvish to him. "I've never meet a human such as yourself." He said English was quickly becoming easier for him. "He says he's never come across someone like you before either." He told her keeping his own mind protected but the bear was more open reaching out towards her.

She gasped. "He's speaking to me? He's not a shape shifter though is he?" She bent down so she was staring into his eyes. "You are a beautiful creature. May..." she laughed. "May I pet your head? I've always wanted to touch a polar bear."

She then looked at Orophin, picking up on the other was going to translate. "Your native tongue is very beautiful, I have a feeling that is what I'm hearing."

Orophin nodded. "yes he's ... Speaking isn't the right word." The bear lowered it's head to here, a show it had understood and was okay with the touch. Black skin covered with white fur.

"Thank you yes, that is the language of my people.. Oldest in the.. my land." He said as elves were the first creatures to speak. "I had a question if I may?" He asked watching the bear close its eyes when the girl touched him, not immune to a pretty girl.

"What is a vampire. I've lived many centuries and never heard that word spoken in the common language."

Sookie smiled as she got to pet the soft white fur. "Oh! It is so soft." She smiled at him. "You are very handsome."

She looked over at Orophin. "You don't have them in Middle Earth? They are...well in my world, they say they have a disease. They burn in sunlight, they are virtually immortal and they have to drink blood to survive. Preferably human blood. And fairy blood, that would be me, is especially intoxicating to the vampires of my world."

She then smiled after she got the horrible part out. "But I'm dating one. Um, he's my partner? Mate?" She didn't know what word to use. "He loves me and I love him very much."

"So they have lived many years yes?" He asked leaning into the bears side, he was weary all of this was exhausting in a way the elf was not used to. Her description of what a vampire was did not sound appealing or good, and something that had it walked middle earth most defiantly would of come from Mordor.

"Oh your mate, yes." Elves mated once and for life he'd never had the pleasure yet as he'd not found the elf right for him but he believed in love. "how did you get here?"

	She smiled at him and nodded. "Eric's over 1000 years old. He's not the oldest I've met though, his maker was older." She smiled sweetly at Orophin. "I was looking for Eric, he disappeared off an island about a month after I broke up with him. I realized how much I missed him and came looking for him and got dragged to this place." Orophin laughed softly and it was like music. "One thousand years is very young in deed. " He said the vampires were made too? Or did she mean a celestial maker. "Oh... I was on a boat." He explained "and then i was on the beach." He shrugged his shoulders very undignified of an elf. "He says you can keep petting if you'd like." He'd also offered a ride but he wasn't sure if the bear understood he could carry him because he weighed a fraction of even a small human like her.

Sookie grinned and began to stroke the bears ears and head. "You are a very magnificent creature." She smiled.

"Same here. I was on a boat, there was a wave, then I was here. It was snowing when I got here. And I was in...this." She waved at her bikini and sundress. "Thank God, for Eric and those pelts or I would have died."

She was playing with the bears ears, giggling. "Your laughter is beautiful. I'm sure I sound clunky."

"It snowed after I'd arrived." He explained to her. "He's been here longer, lost and lonely." he smiled at her and nodded. "So i've been told before." He said about the laughing. "I wondered if that was... Just what was always worn." He explained eying her clothing and the fact that the heat was horrible or so he felt but thankfully his cloak helped keep him cool and hidden.

	"Well you have friends now sweetheart." She hugged the large head, stroking him affectionately. She laughed. "Oh the two piece is what I wear when I swim. The other part is a cover up. 	Orophin gave the bear a look after the hug, and the bear could almost be described as smiling. "He is fond of you. " he said nodding to the bear and then laughed at something that she could not hear. "Your world is a peaceful one then yes?" 	Sookie grinned, "I'm glad he likes me." she bit her lip when he asked about her world and laughed. "Definitely not. I've had someone try to kill me at least once every six months for the past three years." Of course if she didn't hang out with supes maybe she wouldnt have that problem. (Reply to this) (Parent)
