Tensing slightly at his confusion, fully ready to bolt as she truly thought she'd done something wrong in the strange boys mind. Not that she wasn't well used to getting in trouble for the simplist thing -even talking to her Aunt or Uncle without being told she could got her a swift kick to the leg or a good stinging whap on the arm- though no one here had paid her much mind. Or threatened to injure her. Most, with the exception of the boat man doctor, generally ignored her mostly.
Even so, being allowed to touch such things cuased a small giggle to escape her and she reached out, eagerly scritch-scratching the soft things carefully. She'd petted a few animals in her short life, of course. The Private school, well away from prying eyes and willing to look the other way in cases like hers,sometimes as grounds pets, but no one in her family allowed her to have a pet of her own. Giggling at the soft fur underneath her fingers, she patted his head happily, a small but bright smile none the less flickering to life.
