Mary sighed, shaking her head slightly. "How noble of you," she said, dryly.
She moved away, kneeling on the floor and reaching down to slip off his shoes. She didn't want to argue with him, not when he had just arrived. Even if he was being absolutely infuriating. But she wasn't about to let this go, either.
"But surely what I want must count for something," she said, looking up at him.
