Katherine pulled back, blood splashed on her lips and stained her chin. "Yes, you look like him. Taste like him too. But unlike him, I'm not going to kill you today," she cupped his face in her slender hands, having had her fill of his blood for the moment, and looked deeply into his eyes.
Her face had shifted back to pure human and the sight of blood upon her looked sinister and even more unfitting then it did on the monstrous one she wore before. "You will not remember anything about what happened here. You don't know what did this to you. Possibly an animal, but you don't know. You won't remember anything. Nothing," she said softly, voice calm and steady. "You won't even remember me". With those parting words, she stepped back and licked away the remnants of her meal. No sign remained and she slipped from the library in a flash of vampire speed, leaving papers rustling in her wake.
