Slipping on her boots, the vampire made her way to the library and slipped inside. Her brown eyes took in the massive selection of reads and she found one or two instantly with her keen sight that she use to favor back in the day-when those things still mattered. The air was thick with the musty sent of old, crinkled pages and the vampire had no doubt that this library was filled with everything and anything to accommodate anyone's personal literary wish or desire.Bored, she pulled a book from the shelves and plopped down on the end of one of the couches, flipping through it with some interest, but mostly her senses were on high for the human-another Damon look alike- that was supposed to meet her here.
It was about religion and Katherine didn't believe in such nonsense. Of course, if her life depended on it, she could fake her way through a few verses of the Bible, but it meant nothing to her. She trusted only herself. Everyone else would stab you in the back the instant you gave them a free shot. Hence, you learn to play the game, you learn to act one way and go with who ever can save your life. You do what you have to to survive. Katherine had done it for centuries and her very vampire existence was based on her own will to avoid death at any cost. Sadly, such a rash, selfish decision cost her family their lives. It was the only part of her past that could actually make her feel still.
Closing the book, the brunette tossed it on the table and pushed herself up, long legs steering her around the room as she paced the giant space with curious eyes. Her fingers brushed along the surfaces of the old novels, volumes, and records. Occasionally, she would pause to briefly read the binding before moving on to the next shelf. In another five seconds, Katherine was about to become really bored and that was never, ever good. Why? Because she started killing people and destroying things, causing trouble and making mayhem. It was like when she didn't get her way, punishment was needed to ensure she did as well as threats and anything else her brilliant, beautiful mind could come up with.
