"Yup," he said, popping the "p". He reached into a pocket with his free hand and withdrew the tool. "The other me got me one. Wouldn't be me without it. Well, I say it wouldn't be me, but I have been known to go years without sonicing anything." He certainly hadn't been fond of using the tool as his fifth self, but those days were behind him, as fond as he had been of them.
"Nearly there," he said as he eased across the ice, Rose's hand warm in his, and the bulk of his attention on keeping the both of them steady. "Just one quick little slide ... " Suiting action to words, he did just that, skating across the last stretch of ice and onto more solid footing inside the mouth of the cave, drawing Rose with him, one arm wrapped around her waist so she wouldn't fall.
