Mia couldn't believe this was happening. According to the people sending her messages on the tablet, she was on a spaceship. And she was stuck here. She was in a ballgown and wearing a tiara, and she was on a spaceship.
At least she was in some kind of bar. She made her way around to look at what they had. Lots, by the look of it. She could have a drink, maybe. It wouldn't hurt, being here...
Someone came in and she looked up, feeling immediately guilty. "Oh, hey. I haven't taken anything. I was just... looking."
The guy stepped forward, his eyes flicking from her tiara to the sash draped over her shoulder. Mia felt immediately overdressed, but this guy was in a pretty dapper waistcoat and trousers.
"Your... Majesty?" he asked, bowing slightly.
Wow, that was a very English accent. She nodded, glancing around. "Um, that's cool, you don't have to."
He smiled. "I do. I'm not entirely certain which Queen of Genovia you are, but I recognise your family orders. And that tiara." He gestured to himself. "Prince George, the Duke of Kent, at your service."
"Wow. Okay.... you're not the current Duke of Kent, I've met him. Oh, I'm Queen Amelia. Or, like Mia."
He smiled. "When are you from? I suspect that is my son."
"2014. He's Edward, I think?"
George nodded. "That is my boy, yes. People here are from all times and places." He nodded to the bar. "And you can help yourself, by the way. It's all free."
"Woah."
"Would you like a drink? I was planning to make cocktails."
"I suppose. I don't really anymore - other than, like, wine. Not since the whole coronation thing." She gestured to her tiara. "But this is all so..."
George grinned and gestured to the bar stools. "Take a seat, your majesty. This situation absolutely calls for cocktails."
Mia did, feeling a little weird but it wasn't like hanging out with princes was new. His drinks were strong, though, and she probably shouldn't have had the first one so quickly. Still, she accepted the second. She was on a space ship. She could let go a little, right?
