Who: Steve and Lee What: A second date When: The evening of this Where: Lee's room Warnings: Possible cuddling, emotional discussions
Steve had a date. An actual, pre-planned date. For the first time since... since Robert had died. He forced himself to draw in a deep breath, calming his nerves. Robert was dead, and nothing was ever going to change that. He needed to get on with his life. And there was no reason for him to do it alone. Lee seemed... nice. And patient. Not to mention gorgeous. It was... worth a shot. Definitely. He looked in the mirror, double checking his appearance. It was weird to be out of uniform, but all he'd had on him were his ship casuals. Nowhere near nice enough for a real date. Possibly dress blues would have been overdoing it, but that wasn't an option anyway. He'd managed to find a nice blue shirt, only slightly darker than his eyes, and some understated grey trousers. He looked good.
Hopefully Lee would agree. He managed a small smile at his reflection. Robert would be... proud of him, he thought. He would have liked Lee. And he'd told him not to... to let this get to him. He'd been... very bad at following that order, until lately.
He ran his hands down his shirt, straightening some imagined wrinkles, then made his way determinedly from the room, heading towards Lee's cabin. He hesitated at the door for a long moment, gathering his courage, then tapped lightly on the panel.
