Shepard's eyes drifted closed, and he leaned back against him. He carefully set down the knife he'd been using. "I thought you wanted me to cook for you," he murmured. "If you had other things in mind, we could have met somewhere more private." He turned in his arms so he could embrace him as well.
"I missed you," he said softly. He gently nuzzled the other man's jawline. "I know it hasn't been long, but I still did. I'm glad you're here."
Ever since Garrus had made him think about Kaidan, he'd been terrified that he'd get back home and the Reapers would have destroyed everything, including the man he loved. Knowing that at least one person was safe took a load off his mind. He held him tightly, eyes closed.
