Who: Kayashima and Vreth When: Not long after this Where: The TARDIS console room What: Guidance Warnings: TBD
Vreth had awoken to find himself in the TARDIS console room. Everything felt so cold and still, so strange to him. It was as if he were a tree that had been forcibly uprooted and taken from his home, and in a sense he was. But he was unaccustomed to the cold metal walls, the unnatural lights, the constant hum in the air. Every foreign vibration was a curiosity to him and yet, something to fear. There were no trees, no birds, or insects. Only signs of men, and his heart grew heavy. Still, his curiosity led him.
There was one thing in the room that drew him upright. The central console. Not just the physical thing itself, but the spirit, the life inside. He looked up at that strange pulsing light in wonder, and slowly moved towards it. He had wrapped his limbs around that central column and embraced the TARDIS close to him. And in that moment, he had become one with her. He could hear her, he could understand her. His thoughts, his words to her, flowed out and to the other people on the TARDIS, and the people in turn, spoke back.
His fingers stretched out, becoming branches and twigs, wrapping around the centre of the TARDIS. From those branches, leaves and flowers began to bloom and spread. And in the centre of it all, Vreth remained, his body pressed against that pulsing heart, his eyes closed. It was overwhelming and yet beautiful. To hear the spirit of this strange place, and all those who lived there, speak at once. There was grief and sorrow, tragedy and anger. Yet there was happiness and joy, hope and wonder. So many different emotions, so many living beings who did not belong, just as much as he did not. And silently, he wept. Knowing his children, his forest, was so far away. "This is my winter... This is where I will die" he smiled sadly.
