James chuckled. "I suppose one must expect it from royalty. This place is ... much less formal. It is easy to forget the restrictions of society at home."
Of course, whether it was wise to do so or not was precisely what was playing on James' mind. His brow furrowed slightly. There was so much to consider. His duty to his family, to his estate and those dependent on him. His mother had never tired of reminding him if he must risk his life he ought to take steps to ensure there was a successor to the title and estate, though before now it hadn't been something he had given much thought to.
