"No!" Tarvek's grip on Gil tightened. He couldn't let him get back into that fight. He could barely stand, much less take on Kai. And Tarvek couldn't lose him. Not again. "We have to go, Gil." Something he'd said earlier clicked in his mind, and he knew what he had to do. "What if he gets away? I need you to protect me, Gil." He gazed at him, trying to look as helpless as he could. He hated manipulating Gil, but it was better than letting him get himself killed. He wasn't about to revive him again. He didn't have enough equipment.
Something in Kai's expression made Klaus hesitate. He wasn't as cold as he tried to appear. And his rage was fading somewhat now that Gil was out of danger. Just a bit, but enough to let him see reason. He walked up to the man and stared down at him. "Give me one reason I shouldn't have your head off here and now," he said, his expression hard as stone.
