"Here's to..." he paused, the cup held mid air. The young imp was quite intoxicated already. Not uncommon for Christmas, not uncommon for Tyrion but he knew nothing of Christmas. He was drinking to drown his sorrows, and keep him warm. The festive season had nothing to do with his state. This was just another day for the little Lannister.
"Here's to..." he began again. "To solitude. To good wine. To strange places and the good maesters electricity!" he said, raising the cup upwards before knocking the contents back. "To new companions. This strange ship, and most of all, to the great void that seperates me from the Seven Kingdoms and my wife to be!"
He paused, and gently placed the cup down. Sansa Stark... That poor dear. What was in store for her now that he was gone? He only hoped that nothing terrible happened to her. That poor girl had been through enough. Shaking his head, he lifted the cup again, and drained the last of the liquid.
"What does love mean to House Lannister?" he scoffed, picking up the bottle of wine. He poured a generous amount before plonking the bottle back down in the table. "Far less than power. It must hold its roots in wealth. A good strong family name with lands and influence. What else should matter to a Lannister? To men destined for the throne? Certainly not love" he paused, smiling to himself. Not a smile of happiness, but rather one born from a sorrowful understanding of things he could not change.
"But Pride? That is another thing entirely. The pride of a Lion, the pride of the House. That proud name means everything to my Father. He who would see himself as the hand of the King, but which hand? The hand that guides? That hand that strikes? Or perhaps the unseen hand holding the strings, far out of sight behind a writing desk, fingers stained with wax and ink" he rambled, lifting the metal cup towards his lips. "Dearest Sansa... I am very, very sorry that you have been left on your own, surrounded by so many lions. But you are a wolf at heart, dear Sansa. I only hope you can find that strength in enough time"
