"Yeah, exactly..." Dan replied, his voice drifting off into a light chuckle. He was slowly getting to used to people asking questions. Especially the sort that had answers Dan deemed simple. But it wasn't like that for everyone on the ship and they all had their different experiences. Not all of them were from the same time, or the same world. Things were different.
"And no, we don't" he added. "Well, not really. I mean, England's become a bit of a mixing pot for cultures. So we do have Japanese restaurants" he smiled. "But I'm sure whatever you'd make is much better" he winked at him.
Dan accepted the cup when it was handed to him, taking it with both hands to make sure it was balanced at first before simply holding it with one. Dan chuckled to himself and just watched Souji. This was one of the must fun parts, really. Watching his friends reaction. "People work a lot" Dan replied, before sipping his tea. "We don't have much time to prepare anything really nice to eat any more. Not unless we work from home" he shrugged. "I worked a lot. I spent most of my waking hours working, actually... And I do miss it, believe me" he said, picking up a sandwich. He put the tea to the side and took a bite out of the sandwich. He missed the thrill of his job, the research, the trickery, the deception. Having to really think on his toes. He didn't have any of that on the TARDIS. Well, he had been doing his own investigating, but other than that? It wasn't much and he missed his team.
Smiling softly, he cleared his mind of thoughts of home. "Just let me know if they're okay... I've never tried to make those before" he said pointing to the sushi rolls.
