Yuuto was in no hurry to detach. He had so long been without affection (save the rare and rather different touch of Deneb) that the importance of a hug had long been retired with other childish things. Until Ryotaro was in his arms the elder youth had not had any notion how much he needed it. The smell of Airi's incomparable coffee clung doggedly to his friend's clothing and hair like ghostly perfume. That rich fragrance had evoked comforting familiarity even when he could not possibly have inhaled it before. It reminded Yuuto of the woman he loved, it was true, but much more than her alone. It belonged to Ryotaro too. To the laughter and tinsel, to family and memory, to the brass telescope that had stood in his place, to someone refusing to let him go. He hugged Ryotaro's frail body carefully with restraint of enhanced strength, despite the enormous press of feeling. The smaller youth's temple was warm against his cheek and a heartbeat could faintly be felt through the thin skin.
Had the last comment not engaged his selfless nature Yuuto might have clung on for unforgivably long. Much as he had resisted attachments the two Riders knew each other quite well at this junction. It was not difficult to divine Ryotaro's feelings on any subject, of course, since he was transparent as refined diamond. Yet the younger boy had learnt to see through Yuuto's enigmatic mask just as easily. Being in tune with one another the latter understood how exhausted his partner was. After a subtle brush of his nose against Ryotaro's temple (not unlike a phantom kiss) they parted to more appropriate distance. "I'll take you there. Deneb can make you something. Though the food here is weird and kinda hit or miss." In his usual abrupt manner Yuuto turned smartly to march toward his destination. The only difference was that he seized Ryotaro by the wrist and towed him along as well. Ostensibly to prevent the Imagin wandering.
