Tempus wondered how many others she had killed. How many she had managed to catch. Honestly, that made him feel a little smugger. And it was showing. Even if he was trying to hide it. There was always that little glimmer in his eyes.
"Trust you?" he smiled a touch. "And here I thought the only thing I could trust was that well... you couldn't be trusted" he pointed out. "I've let my guard down before... and we both know where that ended up going" Her trying to kill him, him managing to get away by the skin of his teeth. It was funny because it wasn't like it only happened once. And maybe, just maybe now, he was starting to let that guard slip again.
"How am I supposed to trust you?" he asked. "You'll tell me that I can't, yes, I know that. But I've tried to trust you before... and I'd be stupid to do that again, wouldn't I?" He was stupid to stand so close if he didn't trust her either.
