They were in a very similar situation. It was odd. She was trapped in a human body, something which should not have been possible but obviously was. And the Master. Well, since his resurrection, he was trapped too. Eating more than he usually did, ravenously, just trying to survive. And for what? He could have shut himself down, made it all stop. But he didn't he carried on. He had been saved from the time lock, he had been brought to another universe with another chance. A chance to fix his body and return to normal. Whatever normal was.
The Master shook his head. "This isn't normal" he replied, squinting his eyes at her. "People don't talk to me.... People don't scare me. I scare them!" There was an intensity to his voice that lost all restraint for the faintest of moments. And all his anger dwindled and buried itself once more, leaving a more truthful shell.
"But then again you're not just anyone. You're different" he added, regaining some control over his emotional state. "We're different" he added. The Master reached out for her, grabbing her by the shoulders and looked into her eyes. He wasn't too rough but it was rather sudden. He stood there, hunched and desperate, questioning. "When and if you speak to the Doctor for me.... what will you do if he asks you never to talk to me, or see me again?" he asked, watching her carefully. "I am alone. All I have.... are these.... these things I create and the drums inside my head. I don't want this any more! I am so tired, of solitude!"
