"Detecting Ebb. Flux!" he replied hastily. Taking the glasses back down, he fixed them back in place and switched the screwdriver off. He was going to need it, no sense it tucking it away again.
"Right. "Ebb and glyphs are more than just linked. These glyphs are powerful symbols, used to evoke great power. Now, in their current state, they're pretty powerless. All that's there is leftover energy. They weren't placed there to do anything, they were left as a warning. Not just anyone can use the Ebb and not just anyone can understand these glyphs! They're dangerous! Very dangerous. Now whatever is down here knows how to use them or someone did. We need to be careful" he explained as best he could. Without saying too much of course.
"We need to follow that lead. I don't have any more time to explain why, we just do!" he said sternly, before activating the screwdriver again. As he did that, the glyphs lit up. Not just in front of them, but behind them... and to the other side... all along the length of the tunnel, the glyphs shone a dark and yet vibrant shade of ultraviolet purple. The air filled with a terrible, electronic hum, gradually getting louder and louder. The lights grew brighter and brighter until the tunnel was bathed in a brilliant light, the sound pulsating so much that it felt like the walls were shaking. And then... they were gone.
They were no longer in the tunnel. Now they were in a room. And they weren't alone.
