The garden was at peace, and it was as if it had fallen under nightfall, yet not everything was as it appeared to be. The moon was not there but rather hung in the sky, as if caught on some invisible hook. The stars above, the clouds... they were simple images and nothing more. And that breeze... That breath of wind that blew through the trees and tickled each blade of grass into shivering? The figure who stood beneath the shadowed trees knew it wasn't real... Not magic but something else. Something she did not understand.
There was little comfort to be found in this strange place, or so she thought at first. After all, each tree was real... the plants lived, the water running nearby was pure... It was a place in which this half elf could find peace. But she had never seen these trees before. Each scent was new and different, each sound, fascinating. And yet there was a caution dwelling within her, one that she ignored far too often, and was doing very much the same to now.
Smiling ever so softly, she stood swiftly and elegantly. She moved through the tall blades of grass with a feline grace, her posture tall and proud. There was no fear to be found in this woman, no thought of consequence. She simply walked beneath the trees, watching the sky above, as if she were trying to touch each silver sphere with her mind. A sadness filled her eyes when she heard no sound, when she could feel no life from the heavens above. And she smiled ever so sorrowfully.
She knew that beyond these voiceless orbs, her lover waited for her, and that one day she would walk beyond this forest and find him.
