The kettle clicked and he poured the hot water into the cups, stirring. If he wanted sugar he could add it afterwards. For now, it needed time to brew. He set the two mugs on the kitchen table and sat down, cigarette between his lips.
He gently plucked it from his lips with two long fingers and watched Mark. "Think we all had someone" he replied with a soft smile, before blowing the smoke away. "Still, now we're here... Might be for a long time, who knows?" he shrugged gently. He didn't want to push it further. If this man had been a subject of interest for his work, he might have, but he wasn't and so he respected his privacy.
Dan wasn't wearing his wedding ring. He didn't even have a tan line to show it might have been there at some point. That would have done him no good in the past. Besides, it wasn't like he got a tan often. He tended to turn pink, that was it.
