"England" he said with a smile. "London, if that helps at all" he shrugged gently. He brought the cigarette up to his lips again to take a shorter drag, and let the smoke tumble over his lips.
He wasn't quite expecting to be asked which planet he was from but then again he had just been told he was on a time machine and there were aliens, so... really it shouldn't have too surprising. "I worked as a journalist with the Herald" he said, looking for something he could use to flick the ash into. "What about you? I'm guessing you're from Japan, correct?" he asked with a playful smirk. "And your clothes look old, no offence" he said, raising a hand to show he didn't mean any offence. "So what did you do before you found yourself trapped here?" he asked with a quizzical brow raised, fascination and curiosity glimmering in his blue eyes.
Eventually he found a small dish. A potted plant had been sitting on it. He took the dish out from under it and flicked the ash into it.
