James watched the events unfolding between Remus and Sirius, and as the latter almost cracked, he started to feel guilty for his earlier reaction. Heeding Lily's advice, he nodded silently and just let his mind beat itself up over the way things were turning out. He wanted to be FURIOUS at Sirius, not to be sympathetic, or Merlin knew what else was going on here. Maybe there was something behind last night that none of them knew, Sirius included.
With that thought in mind, he turned to Lily and took her hand, trying to be a little more rational than he had been. "I'll go with you, then. Let them figure it out," he tossed a side glance at his other two mates before turning away, not wanting to see how broken Sirius looked for any longer than he had to.
