AFTER 8 PM
It took quite a while for James to calm himself down, but after the reminder from Lily, he'd gotten the wake-up call that he needed and went in search of Remus. He'd been so concerned about finding Sirius and throttling him that he hadn't thought about how their friend might be affected. Sure, he knew there was something going on between them; he just wasn't aware how much, nor the depth. It was clear that the two boys were close, so James let his mind wander as to their actual status as he went up the stairs in Gryffindor Tower in search for his mate.
"Moony?" James called out as soon as he'd entered their shared dorm. He desperately hoped to find him, but at the same time, almost didn't want to have this conversation. He had never been overly close with Remus and while he felt bad about it now, he realised that he might not get as much from the other boy as he was hoping to. This would be a new level of friendship for them if Remus was willing to talk, and James wasn't sure how to handle it.
His gaze immediately went to the closed curtains of Remus's four poster, knowing what he was likely to find there. In a softer voice, he padded over slowly while running an anxious hand through his hair, making him look even more wild, "Moony...? Can we talk?"
