Regulus felt very stiff. He had asked his fellow prefect, Miss Parkinson, to attend with him, and was pleased that she'd said yes. But dances were not terribly his thing. He often enjoyed family affairs, but they had perhaps taken all of the spark out of such an event, as they occurred so often. It made school functions such a bore.
He selected the tastiest looking sweet and presented it to his date, who smiled and accepted it.
