PUNCH BOWL
The grin on his face helped to calm some of the tension that was developing in his shoulders all afternoon. Lily looked so down-to-earth after she'd let out quite possibly one of the best sounds he'd ever heard from her. James was an eternal boy, always amused by bodily noises and no less so when it was performed by a girl, particularly one whom he adored so much. He just shook his head while trying to hold back the laughter, trying to reassure her, "Don't worry about it. I thought it was the best thing I've heard all day." Honesty was always such a talent for him.
Taking a large swig of his own punch, he set down the mostly empty cup and offered his hand to Lily, taking her out on the dance floor and getting into the proper mindset for the more composed ballroom dancing this early into the event. As a pureblood, one aspect of his home education had been proper dance lessons, so that James was quite fluid on the floor. Any partner would glide easily along with him, but he made sure to let Lily have as much leeway as she wanted as he started to hold her in the proper form, before realising that maybe she wasn't used to this style of dancing.
"Er, you're okay with classical dancing, aren't you? I got a lot of lessons as a kid but I don't know how much muggles care about that sort of thing."
