AFTER 8 PM
Remus had taken to reading while his best mates all got ready for the ball. He really would have been content not to attend at all, but he'd told Sirius he would go and he didn't want to go back on his word. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. If worse came to worse, he could just make an appearance, then duck off to bed without being noticed. It all depended on how into their dates his friends were. But, at the very least, he needed to at least go see Sirius.
He didn't have quite as fancy of dress robes as James or Sirius, but he cleaned up pretty well. His health was on the mend, so he didn't really look like a sickly hospital patient anymore. He wasn't really dressing to impress, but he knew if he looked shabby he'd get grief about it.
Eventually he made his way down to the hall, and as luck would have it, the first thing he really heard among the crowd was Sirius' voice shouting his name. And then, he saw him, bounding around like his canine counterpart. Despite the awkward tension that had kind of sprung up between them, Remus couldn't help but smile a bit as he walked toward him.
