Riona looked up as Severus spoke, giving him a genuine smile in welcome. "I thought it was one we shared," she said, tilting her head to look at him as he sat down. "But perhaps I am today. It was peaceful and outside, two things I needed right now." She turned to stare out at the lake once more, knowing Severus wouldn't bother her from her thoughts. But did she really want to be stuck with them at the moment?
"What are you working on?" she asked, her attention turning back to her present company. "If you don't mind my asking. I could use a little distraction at the moment." She grinned, hoping he was in a better sort of moods. He tended to keep to himself, but she could do with a friend right now. Severus probably wasn't the best person to get that from, but the most convenient. Plus, she enjoyed their conversations when he allowed them. He was an intelligent wizard with much promise of making it far. She just wished he was a little more vocal and social.
