Peter gave a quick shake of his head. He had begun to harden his resolve, in light of the facade of worry that Amycus was putting off and which he swallowed up as if it were the absolute truth.
Peter cared what his mates thought, however this mattered as well and...he could make his own decisions, have his own friends! Different from theirs' or anyone else in his house. "It's fine! If they get mad, well...I'll just explain it to them and they'll either have to accept it o--or not."
It was a bold for him, and for a moment Peter felt disoriented; briefly questioning this new line of action. That, however, melted away as the last of Amycus' words sank in.
"Well, we can always g--get together. Since...we're friends. If you're lonely, I mean, or if you just want to hang out."
Peter always wanted to please, to do anything that someone wanted of him.
