Peter had wanted to draw back, to get up out of the chair and put as much distance between them as was possible. Something kept him rooted in place though and he tried to mirror the smile, never noticing that there was a strange sort of coldness in Amycus' eyes.
"I...Actually, I would really enjoy that. I mean, I'm not..." He scratched the cover of his book, lifting the cover and letting it fall back down. "The best with most things, but putting it into action if better then just reading books..."
Shifting, he briefly closed his eyes, just to try and stem the flow of nerves that were building up ever stronger as the minutes ticked by. When he opened them, Amycus was still there.
He was still in one piece.
Peter seemed to be doing something right. "Well...what Avery did was really rude, with what was said about Remus and Sirius-- No one took it and ran, after Skeeter mentioned it... " He said, shrugging. "I think it's more Avery's fault, then anything you did."
