Amycus was certain his surprise showed on his face at Peter's comment about it being kind of the same for him. He couldn't quite bring himself to believe it but it seemed almost as if the other boy was saying he was better at using the Dark Arts than defending himself against them. "I'm certain some people are rather dismayed by my aptitude for the Dark Arts," he said, hoping that he injected the appropriate amount of regret into his voice. He was quite proud of his skill when it came to the Dark Arts.
"I don't see why the Professors get annoyed when students don't grasp things," he said. None of the Professors had ever given him too hard of a time over things but he'd seen how they could be with some of his classmates, especially Rabastan. He'd ended up in more than his fair share of detentions over the years because of his temper when it came to his friend and the way others treated him. He'd never hit a Professor but it had come close a few times and he'd screamed at several in Greek.
"I'd be happy to help you with them," he said, glad that he hadn't almost choked on his words. The boy didn't seem to have seen through his mask yet so he was starting to feel confident that he'd be able to pull this off with Molly. "I've always thought that the people who take it seriously are a waste of time. They never want to hear anything that disagrees with their opinion. Although that could be said of many people I believe."
He smiled a bit at what he interpreted as Peter's apparent discomfort. "Like I told you, it could prove a good review for my own studies."
