She wanted to roll her eyes, but there would be no purpose in that now. She felt him pull away for a second and panic began to fill her throat. Was he leaving her? Was this part of his game?
But her worries were for naught when she felt him place his cloak around her and she couldn't help but smile. "Thank you," she said, using one hand to pull it closer over her, her free hand searching for his once more.
She kept her thoughts to herself, feeling guilty for always jumping to bad conclusions with Dominic. She wanted so desperately to believe him completely, but she was always on her guard. There was still a small part of her that didn't trust Dominic completely, thinking he may be using her for some bigger purpose. But then her mind always traveled back to the other night and the moment they had shared in the garden. That couldn't have been fake, could it?
