Remus didn't really feel right about being there. He didn't belong in this sort of setting, and it was clear as day, considering how uncomfortable he was sitting at the dinner table. He could see why Sirius fled and never looked back. Pureblood society seemed to fluctuate between incredibly dull and somewhat terrifying. He wasn't sure which extreme he was feeling at the moment, but what he did know was that he wanted it to be over so they could go back to school.
As Sirius leaned in to speak to him and James, Remus lightly brushed his knee beneath the table to try to soften his resolve to kill his mother. "Not during dinner," he lightly scolded, whispering back. He was trying to make light of it, but it wasn't exactly easy when he actually wanted to physically harm the woman who had caused Sirius so much strife over the course of his young life. It was weird to see her in person for the first time.
