Regulus often went to the library before breakfast. He liked the quiet desertion of the room, and always found books to be a comfort. He'd been searching for a book about Animagi. He was writing a paper for his Transfiguration class and needed more recourses.
When he sat down with the thick book, he wasn't far from Lily Evans. He glanced up at her, but didn't say anything for now, as she was hard at work. He didn't know her well, but could only imagine how upset she must be given the results of the trial. Despite being relieved that his cousin wouldn't be sentenced to hard time, Regulus couldn't help feeling a pang of sympathy for the red-head. Was she really lying about it all? And why bother?
He forced his eyes back to his book. She seemed calm enough, focused on her work... and that, at the very least, was a trait he found admirable.
