Generally Rodolphus was pretty good at entertaining himself, especially w hen left to his own devices, but once Rabastan had told him he was bringing that snot-nosed interloper Amycus along to their weekend out it seemed only natural to invite Alecto over also. Not only could they enjoy each other's company but it would probably annoy Amy as much as his presence annoyed Rodolphus.
It had taken a lot of self control to maintain his composure after Amycus left his home to spend the evening with Bellatrix but after giving it some careful consideration he'd decided he didn't really have anything to worry about. Without a doubt the topic of Rodolphus could come up in their conversation and when Amycus came back he'd get to hear all about it and once he did then! Then he could pick through it all and try and uncover the secret messages Bellatrix most certainly had left for him in order to bolster their little game of cat and mouse.
He was in one of the sitting rooms, sprawled out over a settee, barefooted with his shirt untucked from his trousers and his journal perched on his chest. He was talking to the book even though the people on the other end couldn't hear what he was saying. When he heard the door open he dropped the book against his body and smiled warmly at her as he sat up. "There you are. I'd wondered what happened to you." He pulled himself up, closing the book and tossing it onto the table.
