She watched him hang it, happy to have her piece displayed as such. She felt a surge of pride and couldn't help but laugh as he fumbled with his words once more. He was such a different person when it came to art and she only shook her head.
"It's alright Rab, I understand what you mean. I can only imagine." Indeed she could. She was use to other watching her as she played the piano. It was never nerve wracking for her because she was able to just forget about everyone else and concentrate on herself.
"I wanna show you something," she said, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the door. She didn't think he would protest or be embarrassed, but she suddenly wanted to show him her sanctuary. He had been so nice as to invite her into his, she wanted him to try hers.
She lead him down the stairway and through various hallways, never letting go of his hand. She didn't want to take the chance he would just up and leave or go back to his paintings.
When they reached the music hall, she headed to her favorite room and showed him inside, shutting the door. She turned to look at him, a smile on her face. "This is my place of refuge," she said. "A different kind of art, but still one I can be lost in. You were nice enough to invite me into yours, I thought it would only be fair to share mine." She nodded her head towards the piano bench and slid onto it, patting the spot next to her.
