There was a part of him that hoped she was sleeping. He could sit with her, leave the books he'd brought with him with a note for her, and then he could go back into his world of studies and fictional stories. Everything that was going on was starting to be too much, and as much as he was trying to keep it all together, Remus was only human. ...Well, not really even human. He was a werewolf, and the full moon was drawing near, which was exactly why he was having trouble, emotionally. But, for Lily's sake, he would keep himself composed and together. He'd become an expert at that anyway.
In truth, he was very happy to see her awake and coherent. He'd been horribly worried about her, and knowing she was safe and back at Hogwarts was a tremendous relief. Remus smiled at her, but he wasn't sure what to say about Sirius. Sirius was.. a mess, and that was putting it lightly. Remus was running out of options to help him, which meant he was going to have to turn to the one person who seemed to know what was wrong with him and how to fix it. That one person, who was actually the last person he should let anywhere near Sirius right now. But Lily ought not to worry about that. She needed to recover.
"We're all.. very happy to see you home with us," he said. "Sirius is, too." He left it at that. She'd probably been made to talk about what happened to her, and all the horrible things that had been going on. Remus just wanted her to have a moment of normalcy. "How much longer are they saying you need to stay here? I brought you some books. I know how dull it gets here." It was no secret to anyone who knew him that Remus spent a lot of time in the hospital wing; the secret was why.
