She stared blankly at the other, folding her arms over her chest. Why was he still here? It's not like she was going to let him do anything else. He'd failed her. He caused her to make a big scene in the middle of a busy street. That would not please their Lord.

"Is there a reason you're still here?" She raised one of her thin brows and clicked her tongue at him. She was not amused. And while she'd had fun that afternoon... it'd certainly come at a price. A price she'd have to deal with later...

Bella had been sure to distance herself from him this time. Leaving enough space where he wouldn't try and grab her or her her hair... also where she could torture his brains out if he tried anything... no wait. He liked that. Never mind... Another reason why she wanted him away from her. It seemed such a waste. Her precious treasure lost to him and he didn't even serve her purpose correctly. Useless... Absolutely useless...

She nodded to the door. "You can leave now."

To be honest, Rodolphus had long since decided that the only reason Bellatrix remained so determined to be upset with him after the events that afternoon was because she'd had too much fun. After all, the plan hadn't been a loss. Lily had been taken, would no doubt suffer immensely, and Bellatrix had gotten a good time. He could still hear her giggling as she shot off spell after spell. She was very good at dueling and it couldn't be often that she had an opportunity to show off her skills or test her limits. He'd at least been a part of providing her that.

Besides, it had been brilliant. The crowd that had gathered? The screams as the smart ones ran away? They'd all been watching them, watching him, and he could still smell the aroma of their shock and fear. Oh they were going to get into trouble, so much trouble, but hopefully Bellatrix's part in all of it would save him from the Dark Lord's killing curse. Merlin knew after how he'd just gotten punished he certainly deserved it. How many more chances would he be given?

Sitting in the uncomfortable chair the Dark Lord had bound Sirius too, Rodolphus slouched until he was nearly falling out of it with his long legs stretched out in front of him. He smiled at her. "Borgin and Black's? Black and Burke's?" He asked looking up at the ceiling as if trying to catch a glimpse of the sign from the basement's ceiling. He could come up with tens of excuses for how what happened wasn't his fault. Avery was supposed to bring Lily to them but he'd messed up. Potter had had what he was positive was an invisibility cloak. He'd done everything in his power to do what he was supposed to.

In one ear, out the other... "If you're worried about getting in trouble, don't. I will smooth things over with the Dark Lord myself... so. You can leave." She really didn't want him here anymore. He'd touch, pull her hair and if he dared say he loved her again, well. She couldn't be responsible for her actions. It was out of her hands. It was best if he left. For his own safety. And her sanity.
She continued to stare as he prattled on. "And... really..." should she continue speaking till he got it...? "You completely failed me out there. Everyone is to blame. Cissy for trusting Avery. Avery for failing miserably. And yourself, for continuing to follow their failures. I have to do everything myself it seems. So before any other horrible things happen... I'll let you go. Take care of this then speak with Him. No one gets in trouble and we avoid more disaster."

"Oh, look at you. You're so benevolent. You'll talk to the Dark Lord for the sake of the rest of us." He held both his hands out towards her as if worshiping some deity that had suddenly appeared before him in the flesh. He was worried about the Dark Lord but not to the point that he wanted Bellatrix to plead his case to him. He'd prefer that somehow just her name would gloss things over and he wouldn't have to feel like he owed her something. Gripping the chair he pushed himself up, adjusting the clothes over his chest. His cloak, he'd left it in the snow back at Hogsmeade. His mother would hit him over the head with a newspaper for that.

He wanted to ask her if she thought the fight would end up as an article in the Prophet but he knew she would just ignore him. He hoped it did show up there, though. He was starting a scrap book.

"I didn't fail," he defended himself, "you didn't give me any time. You tell me to go get her and two minutes later you're there behind me upset that I didn't already have her? If anyone's to blame it's Avery. Completely Avery. There was a good five and a half meters between us. Could he have been any further away?"

"Trust me. I blame him too. I blame all of you for screwing up." She tossed him a glare as he mocked her. Somewhat. "Fine. If it upsets you so, I'll say nothing to the Dark Lord and you can deal with this matter yourself." She shrugged and raised her hands in the air, in mock defeat. "After all. It's not like I care what happens to you anyway. Perhaps he'll kill you this time. I don't know. Doesn't bother me any."

She smirked turning her back towards him. "However... I will let you keep the necklace... even though you failed me so completely. You did show up. You should be thankful I don't ask for it back. Something to hold on to when the Dark Lord tortures you for screwing up so. Try not to break it when your withering in pain at his feet~ Next time... Merlin help us if there is a next time... Don't disappoint me."

"Save my arse or don't, now that's something I don't care about." Please, please save his arse. Stubbornly he set his jaw, gritting his teeth until the muscles ached. This was quickly becoming aggravating and the infuriating, infatuating woman in front of him had sucked all the fun and sense of accomplishment out of his whole body. He wanted to strangle and kiss her at the same time. Well that actually might be kind of fun now that he seriously thought about it.

"You couldn't get that necklace back from me even if you combed your hair again!" He was definitely going to leave now. Well not now now but he'd aparate the moment the thrill of such a passionate feeling wore off. "I'd been teasing before but next time, Bellatrix, you're definitely going to have to come up with one heck of a bribe to convince me to follow such a maladroit leader."

She had half a mind to resort to Muggle fighting and punch him right in the face. Her fingers were actually twitching with the need to do something like that. She stuck her nose in the air, her back still turned to him. "Ha! As if there will be a next time. Trust me. I won't show up at your door again. Even if you were the last Death Eater on this earth. The only way we'll be partnered again is if the Dark Lord was cruel enough to send us on a mission together." And he wouldn't do that to her. Not her. His most loyal servant...

This whole ordeal had been a nightmare. Between being embarrassed and dealing with this idiot... thank the stars that she got to torture someone in a little while. But one thing she was quite certain of... was that her and this bumbling fool were through. He hadn't served his purpose and he aggravated every nerve within her body.

If the Dark Lord wasn't to upset with her after all of this... perhaps she could offer up some ideas to punish this fool with~

Rodolphus found himself rendered speechless after that. There wasn't anything left to be said that already been voiced and anything more would be his stubbornness against her pride and even though he was an ass it was nothing compared to her ego. But she was a Black. It was their right. So instead he curtailed a curse that came out only as a growl and gestured between them before snatching his wand off the arm of the uncomfortable chair where he'd left it.

"I want you to commit to memory everything I've said to you today, Bellatrix. Everything." He lifted his wand to apparate away but before he did he growled again and hesitated so he could add, "except for the part about not saving my ass." She was probably right, He probably would do away with him if she didn't put in a word on his behalf. Either that or never trust him again. He'd prefer to die. "I won't ever touch you again without your permission if you do."

Bellatrix was blatantly ignoring everything he said until that last part. She glanced back at him as he made that promise. "If he kills you, you won't touch me anyway." She pointed out the obvious, a small smile pulling at her lips. She ran her fingers through her tangled hair considering everything. He had been impressive when fighting that boy... she could silently admit that to herself. And if another opportunity came about... and if he didn't fail... he'd probably be good at what he did... maybe...

"But... I'll see what I can do for you... No point in wasting our own over petty matters..." She gave the smallest of shrugs. In the end, it really didn't matter to her all that much, but if he really stopped touching her. Well. That was quite a blessing. And she'd hold him to that promise, till his dying day.
