James merely shook his head at Remus, trying not to be too antagonistic. He'd let the silence enshroud them as they followed their friend, but as soon as they'd come up behind him and heard, saw, what Sirius was doing, he found himself completely in tune with Remus's emotions on the matter.
"I reckon I might've misjudged the situation a bit..." James felt himself tense at the gruesome sight. Trying to find any excuse to look away, he fumbled for his wand for a few seconds while tersely whispering to let his friend know what he was doing.
"I'm going to stun him, and you grab him, yeah? Maybe we could knock him back to his senses after that. If Pete ever catches up, let's not let him see that rabbit. Y'know how squirmy he is." Truth be told, James wasn't having an easy time of it either. He forced himself to face Remus with a confident smile, letting him know that he was fully focused and still here. It wouldn't do for the mighty James Potter to show weakness now.
