Kidnapping All of the commotion had him tearing away from Narcissa and Dominic, worry written all over his face. He knew that laugh, the maddening sound that had filled Slytherin house not too many years ago and always brought chills to his spine. Severus hurried his pace and ignored anything that might get in his way, even if that happened to be Narcissa with her pleading eyes or Dominic with his friendly jibes. This whole weekend was starting to grate on his nerves and not for the first time, he really wished that he could just go back to Hogwarts and forget all about socialising with anyone. He was so much better off when he holed himself away in the library or the empty Potions classrooms littered about the dungeons.
Just as soon as he'd turned the corner, a chaotic sight greeted Severus. Patrons and students alike were either staring on in shock or scrambling about, too caught up in the situation to look where they were going. Severus was roughly bumped by more than a handful of people, yet he resisted the urge to curse at each one of them, eyes darting to the middle of the action. A familiar set of witches were facing off, and if he didn't know any better, he could swear that Potter was dealing with his own set of problems against the two of them. The blaze that erupted set his entire body on edge and he couldn't control the movement of his feet nor hands as he ran over and pulled out his wand, teeth gritting against the adrenaline rush.
Severus found himself throwing a shield charm around Lily and Potter before he knew what had overcome him, his senses on full alert with his quickly yelled warning:
"Potter, you bloody prat, watch out!" Dark eyes scanned the scene and he squinted at the wizard that had tossed the hex out at Potter. Why did he look so familiar?
