Who: Neil and Spider When: Tonight What: Spider wants to talk to Neil finally Where: In the hide away Rated: TBD
“Neil?” Spider whispered through the darkness. It was the only thing that separated them, besides their clothes, the breath he exhaled and the buzzing of persistent mosquitoes that managed to get inside wherever the rebels were hiding. At least there was no more fear but there had been a whole bunch of it before he had managed to let his friend’s name slip out from between his lips. Now the word hung there for a moment and he was tense thinking that maybe the Cap’n had fallen asleep and his invitation for conversation would be unheard.
A few days had slipped by since he had brought Benny back with him and the group had moved onward, over to some other place in the hopes that their constant displacement would be enough to throw Ted and his cronies off their scent. It was tiring and at times Spider thought it was unnecessary. They’d been out here, running, scheming and planning for weeks and not once had they run into anyone from the compound. Perhaps Ted knew they’d be coming again. Lee had said Ted was looking but maybe she was wrong, maybe he was biding his time, planning something they wouldn’t expect.
There had been SO much Spider hadn’t expected- Lee’s pregnancy most of all. What a doozy of a secret to keep under wraps. Every time he saw Rory his heart ached to tell him that he was going to be a father but he had made a solemn promise and if there was any one he would never betray it would be his L-Rock who’d kept his secrets safe in the stone, solid lock box of her higher promises.
It was still warm out at night and although he had shoved himself into his sleeping bag when the promise of sleep was palpable, he’d over heated and his skin had started to clam up. So, he squeezed himself out and was now resting on top of the quilted, floppy material shirtless and stifled. The scent of Old Spice deodorant drifted up when he folded his elbows and placed his arms behind his head, cradling it as he watched the shadows on the ceiling morph into demons.
"I thought we could talk...now that everyone's asleep."
