Emma
His breathing slowed and body relaxed as he pulled her closer and Emma smiled. She could feel the tension leave him and that was enough for her. He needed this. Too much had happened to him in a short amount of time and she wanted, more than anything, for him to feel some semblance of peace. If he could find that here? She was happy to give it to him. Stifling a yawn, Emma stretched against him, soothed by the touch of his fingers on her back. This was entirely too nice and she would have to remind herself to not get used to it.
Adrian's kiss lingered a bit and she smiled, snuggling in a little closer, eyes drooping. An amused smile appeared at his words over her cook. "She says the same about you," she murmured, eyes closed. "A man after her own heart. She's very fond of you." Which, was surprising as they'd spent an afternoon together but Mrs. Fields had raptured about him the moment he left. "She asks me every day if you're coming by..."
The warm atmosphere and comforting presence of the man next to her had her feeling warm and sleepy and it wasn't long until she'd drifted off, content and comfortable wrapped around Adrian Pucey. When she woke up, he'd pulled her close, wrapped around her, arm thrown over her waist. She turned and smiled at the sleeping man next to her. Brushing a light kiss to his lips, she moved and got up. She had to work but she wasn't going to wake him. He needed rest.
