He laughed, amused at her groan. "If it makes it any better, it was a magical brothel," he shrugged. He was certain that those two could still manage to get themselves neck deep into trouble, but he couldn't babysit them every night. He just didn't have the time for it. Sooner or later, he had to trust them not to do something stupid. In all fairness, it was never anything too damaging in the long run. The media moved from one thing to the next faster than anyone could keep track. "There's no camera's allowed inside the establishment, so you'll only have to worry about then entering or exiting the building." He was amused by her final statement and shook his head. "They hadn't even started, yet. There was no point in trying to convince them to head home while they were still sober. Besides, Marcus was celebrating his captaincy with the national team." It was bad enough having bailed on the festivities himself.
Had she voiced her speculations over Lexi, Adrian truly would have started to laugh. He and Lexi ... that just was never going to happen. Even if she hadn't had a particular soft spot for his cousin, they still never would have developed into anything but friends. She was like another member of the family. She was there when he needed her to be and vice versa. That was it and that's all there ever would be between them. That was something they could both agree on, he was sure.
Adrian, to an extent, was surprised that he had told her as well. He supposed he had needed to tell someone and get it off his chest. It was easy to see why he'd chosen Emma. She was outside the situation and was not biased one way or the other. He wasn't causing any negative affects in her by telling her. He wasn't looking forward to having to tell Bell and the rest of the gang. Having someone else know made it seem a little lighter of a weight to carry. "I think we both had started to see it, but openly chose to ignore it. There's too many similarities," he sighed, staring up at the ceiling until her hands found his face. "No. She didn't attend the will reading. I know I shouldn't send the lawyers to tell her, but I don't want to be the one to do so either. I have to be, but I don't want to be."
