Lavender nibbled of the cheese as she listened to Nick and tried to picture him as a child. It was easy to see most of her friends as younger version of themselves. Lavender had known everyone in her life since they were eleven years old. But not Nick. She had no round, happy innocent face to place in her memories. She couldn't conjure up memories of him in the Great Hall or during Potions. It was odd to finally know someone who didn't fit into her past.
"You know, I'm not sure. I wasn't... well. I use to be sort of ditzy. I was only 17 when this happened to me." Had it been that long? "I was going to travel after Hogwarts, but, well.." Lavender shrugged and picked up her wine glasses. She knew better than most that some dreams didn't come true. Holding the glass to her lips, Lavender went to take a sip. Her eyes, however, were still on Nick and rather than drinking her wine, Lavender spilled it down the front of her shirt.
"Oh, fuck!" Jumping up quickly, Lavender held the red stained shirt away from her skin. "Hold on, I want to get this cleaned before it stains." Her bedroom was only a few steps away and Lavender disappeared into the room, but didn't quite shut the door all of the way. A small crack remained as Lavender pulled off the jumper. She cast a few charms, but it still smelled of wine. Dammit.
It took her a few moments, walking back and forth in front of the partially closed door before she finally found a nice (and clean) dark blue jumper which she pulled over her head. Stepping back into the living room, Lavender flashed Nick a smile. "Sorry! I guess I was distracted."
