It was late and Susan was still at the Ministry. It wasn't very busy on Sundays and by the time the sun was setting it was all but empty. She'd been locked in her office for a few hours reading reports and files and making notes on every trial she could research.
There was a knock at her door and Susan looked up, sighing. She hated being interrupted when she was working. Walking to the door, Susan found a secretary nervously holding out a piece of parchment. "Thank you," she said quietly and unfolded the parchment.
The words made Susan's stomach drop. Grabbing her purse and her wand, Susan ran out of her office and to the lift. Her offices was on the ninth level and the lift had never moved so slowly in her life. By the time she reached the atrium, Susan was all but running out of the lift and towards the Floos. It didn't make any sense, but the parchment didn't lie. Seamus was at Mungo's and she was being summoned.
As she arrived, Susan marched up to the desk and asked where Seamus was. She was directed to his bed and all but ran up the stairs. Susan couldn't handle the idea of Seamus being hurt and that confused her. She wasn't supposed to care about that man, but she did. Merlin help her, Susan cared about her idiot git of an ex boyfriend.
Walking into his room, Susan stopped in the doorway, seeing him alive and pale, but so, so alive. "Fin," she said quietly from the open door.
