"Isn't that the truth," she replied, rolling her eyes. She'd so many stories on Marcus Flint that she'd just stopped reading them. They basically all said the same thing and had the same photograph. Him leaving a bar with some girl. Course, now there was a picture of them floating around and that made her part of his sting of conquests. She had to wonder how many of them actually got to go home with him and how many actually made it all the way. She'd been on the way but.. yeah. That hadn't happened. Everyone, of course, assumed it did. Was rather sad, really.
Katie loved Lexi. They got on well enough. Better than her other friends these days. Everyone was so involved in their own lives and she couldn't begrudge them that. Her friendship with Lexi didn't happen til seventh year but they'd been close ever since. Honestly? she wasn't sure what she'd do without her. Lexi had helped her through some fairly dark times after being cursed and all that. Ange, Ali, Fred and George were all gone. Lexi had been there. "Where's the fun in that?" she asked, making a face, foot still tapping against his leg. "Dresses are overrated."
Blushing, Katie took a sip of her champagne, slightly overwhelmed by how close Marcus was getting. "You have no idea," she murmured, for his ears only. "Unfortunately, for you, that was a one time pass. It only happens every few years."
"Youreawhore," a girly voice said, shooting her an evil look as she walked by, giving Flint a flirty look before shooting daggers at Katie.
"Oh lovely," she said, with a sigh. "The entertainment has started for the evening." She waved another glass of champagne over. "It's really not at all fair that I get called a whore and she gives you a come hither look."
