Adrian didn't mind these sort of events. He didn't overly enjoy them but he knew how to navigate them and it made it easier to put on that charming smile and play the part. Normally, he wouldn't have bothered with a date to an event of this caliber, but he'd been coerced into entertaining the daughter of one of his Father's associates. She wasn't overly bad company, but she would not have been his choice. Her conversational skills were flat and steered toward the mundane. She had attempted to talk business on a few occasions, but it had not turned out to highlight her intelligence.
Dancing had been an easy distraction from whatever it was she was going to talk to next and he'd been doing his best to keep her occupied for the last little while. It was not something he could keep up forever, of course, and as the song ended, he spotted Emma through the crowd. He had to admit, for a bossy little thing, she certainly cleaned up nicely.
"Let's get a drink," he commented, offering his date an arm. She was chattering on about something, but Adrian was much too busy to listen. Coming up to Dobbs, he nodded his greeting. "Miss. Dobbs, it's pleasure to see you outside the Falcon facilities." The elbow to his side let him know he was clearly being rude and he reigned in a sigh. "I apologize. I'm being rude. Miss. Dobbs, I'd like to introduce you to Miss. Cuffe. Her father is the current editor of the Daily Planet and a good friend of my family."
